Using The Internet To Find Your Next Job

No one enjoys job hunting. You recognise every Thursday as job day in your local paper. Your computing has automatically saved all the job websites you check every day. It doesn’t matter if you have a job that you really hate or whether you’ve been looking for work for ages, job hunting is not fun.

When it comes to online recruitment you need to be very diligent. It’s not uncommon for the same job to appear on more than one job board. Make sure you don’t apply for the same job more than once as seeing your CV several different times will just irritate whoever has to sort through them all. Uploading your CV onto the job boards yourself means the recruiters can come and find you. This could be a great way of getting the job to come to you.

When it comes to doing a job search make sure you’re not being too specific. There may be more than one name for the role you’re wanting to find. An executive administrator at your old job might be labelled as an admin assistant somewhere else. If the job calls for a certain set of skills make sure you do actually have these before you apply. You’ll just end up making the recruiters angry if they keep seeing your CV for jobs you’re not qualified for. If you’re going to apply for jobs online you need to be very careful your CV looks as professional as possible. You should also check to see what you name brings back when entered into the search engines. If any potential recruiter can see you have a bit of a drinking problem or your associated with any negative press stories this could hurt your job hunting efforts. You’ll also need to look at your email address too. If you email address to manboobs@hotmail you’re not looking very professional.
