Keyword Research Services – Value For Money Or A Waste Of Space?

Are you like me and struggle with keyword research? Finding keywords isn’t actually the problem. I have a problem finding good ones.

I thought the data from Google’s keyword tool was always bang on. Why wouldn’t I? Big company like that shouldn’t be giving false figures. Well, it turns out the figures aren’t always right.

The keyword data you see will be out of date and wrong. It would have been correct at some point though. The answer to this particular enigma came to me almost accidentally.

I was going for a keyword that had roughly five thousand competing pages. I was feeling confident enough to rank well with this one. I put out probably thousands of articles.

Not long after I saw that there were now almost nine thousand competing sites. I could hardly believe that. Had there been some mistake? As it happens most of these extra results were my articles on these different sites.

What I’m saying is that I would have left it alone had I saw over 9000 competing sites. Turns out I was competing mostly against myself as my article was the cause of these sites ranking. Not a bad situation to be in if you ask me.

Anyway, I decided to give a keyword research service a try as I couldn’t count on getting lucky every time. I liked the idea of good keywords being delivered to me every day. I calculated the cost of these services and concluded that they were value for money.

Travis Sago was offering a keyword research service which I decided to try. Travis being at the top of the bum marketing pile. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.

It takes me an hour or two to come up with a couple of decent keywords. Getting them delivered is a huge help. And a couple hours work is pretty valuable to me. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.

I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I see this as an outsourcing project. Outsourcing my keyword research to someone else.

You can find out just how the trial went over at my site. I said earlier about how I got loads of articles published for my chosen keyword. I’ll let you into that little secret on my site.
