Does Banner Advertising Really Send a Surge of Targeted Traffic?

Plenty of businesses that employ pay-per-click ads strengthen their presence even more by installing banner advertising on blogs, message boards, and appropriate websites in order to draw traffic. While you have the choice of many other marketing techniques and tools for drawing traffic, it has turned out that banner ads have become the most popular choice of advertising.
Do not try and spend all your energy on writing an ad that people will not easily understand. Banner ads are not the place to make complex, intricate statements about anything. The reality is that you only have one or two seconds in which to capture that potential customer/client so don’t ruin it with confusing information on the ad. You’ll want your banner ad to project the required call to action in words that clearly tell a customer what they need to do next. Using simple and direct wording you will be able to get the customer in the right direction, this can make all the difference. Certain words will grab the viewer’s attention and invoke action on their part. Words such as; sale, discount, free, change, no shipping, well you get the point. You have to remember to keep the ad as honest as possible, so don’t use any kind of “free” baits if the customer isn’t going to find any such free deal at your site.
Besides all this, you need to be aware that the type and size of font used for your banner ad will also have an important role in the response you get back. Fonts that are not easily read have the effect of making the viewer quickly lose interest before they’ve even gotten to your offer. You’ll want all of the banners you put up to be crystal clear. For example, don’t use blood red font on a black background, no one would be able to read it. If this color combination is necessary, try to use a lighter shade of red, or outline the font by using a light border that pops out of the dark background.
If you want to keep up a steady stream of traffic to your site with your banner ads, refresh them often to keep them up to date. For example, if you had a banner up, promoting a sale that is no long running, then it would only have a negative impression on the customers. They might leave your site and no longer buy from you. Most people won’t feel they can trust your company if no one cares enough to update it. However, if you are are putting in the time to update your banners regularly, you’ll also be able to advertise new products and get excellent results, along with more traffic being generated for your website. By simply switching the design and color of your banners, you will create new and up to date ads. Some people look at changing them monthly, while others don’t do it that often. Just remember that regularly changing your ads will result in them receiving more conversions. A spruce-up and/or update once a month should do the trick of keeping your ads attractive and timely. Don’t forget that you can use your banner ads, if they are not outdated, in emails as well. It all depends on the amount of effort you’re willing to put into increasing those conversions, as well as putting the time in to change your ads is one step towards achieving that goal.
So if your goal is to make banner ads work for you by building your traffic and your profits, the smartest thing to do is to follow these simple steps for succeeding with banners–and watch your business grow.
