Exit Splash – Quick Easy Install?

Exit splash by Dave Guindon, evidently, is a software that holds the attention of the exiting visitor that normally would never return to your website.  As always it’s great to get a second opportunity to make a first impression and maybe even convince your visitor to buy.

The exit splash software that exists essentially falls into two categories.

Exit grabbers — when the person moves their mouse toward the top of their browser to leave the page a hover window comes in but they can still ask out or type in something else to the address bar because they’re NOT trapped!

Exit lockers — those are the gray windows style pop ins or the little chat window which comes into lock you in place and you have to x out of them before you can leave the page.  As an Internet user and web browser obviously those that lock me onto the page can be a bit annoying especially when it’s an offer which doesn’t interest me.  Having to click on OK and then usually the next screen which says click OK to continue or cancel to go back to the page means 2 extra clicks for me when I wanted to get off of the page.

On the other hand, as a website operator similar to Dave Guindon, I want a chance to dazzle the people visiting my website.  “How can I perform this task without being a pest?”

Obviously I’ve alluded to this a bit earlier but you want to make sure the exit splash offer’s relevant and something users to your website are interested in.  When I’m browsing around the Internet I always like to keep an eye on what other webmasters are doing.  Those who have these exit scripts I take note of whether they do a good job presenting me a sec and offer and then I can model what they are doing on my own sites. With anything like this you must test now different offers and messages allowing your website visitors to tell you which ones are most relevant and those they like best.
